Wardrobe Staples: a Neutral Cashmere Sweater

Banana Republic cashmere knit, Zara black jacket, H&M pants, FILA white sneakers

With the new year coming up, I’m challenging myself to spend less and buy less when it comes to my closet. I’ve also been consumed with having the best outfit and shopping incessantly but I’m really trying to change my ways and investing in key pieces that will build a great foundation for my wardrobe.

Idk if you’ve ever heard of the french wardrobe, but it basically consists of having a solid set of elevated basics (a white tee, a great blazer, boyfriend jean cut offs, a cashmere sweater, etc.) and only buying a couple new trendy pieces each season. I’m so into that idea, to be quite honest, my closet can’t handle any more mass purchases lol.

So one of the things I’m proud of that I’ve invested in is this cashmere knit from Banana Republic. I’m obsessed with clothes that also provide comfort and functionality as well as feel (and look) good. This sweater is exactly that. It’s lightweight and super comfortable, and will keep you warm on an extra windy day.

I paired this with another favorite from my wardrobe that I’ve had for a couple years, this Zara coat. This has been a staple of mine for a while and instantly makes any outfit chic. My favorite look to pair this coat with is an all white ensemble (white pants and a tee with sneakers) to really bring out that contrast.

I’ll continue to share these staples I’m investing in and my journey in moving towards the Slow Fashion Movement and buying less, wearing more. Lmk if you’re doing the same in the comments below and I’ll keep sharing my tips along the way.

xx,

s.
