A blind date with a book to end the year

It’s been a whiiile. Honestly, I feel like the year has flown by. I cannot believe we are just a couple days away from 2023 already.

I just wanted to take some time to pause and reflect as this year comes to a close. This year, we were able to have our own book club holiday dinner which was so nice to get everyone together. We did a blind date with a book exchange, where you bring a book wrapped in brown paper and write a description in your own words on the cover. Then everyone exchanges based on the book description, this way you don’t judge a book by its cover.

We were also able to raise funds for Pro Literacy’s Write Her Future program. The program focuses on helping adult women in the U.S., most of them immigrants, to learn how to read and write and be able to create a community around them and participate in society. It truly means so much to me that we’re able to make a real impact on our community.

If you’d like to donate more and directly, please read more information here.

It was such a fun way to end the year and to commemorate FOUR incredible years for our club. I have met some of the most intelligent, kind, and wonderful women through this club and ultimately am so so thankful to anyone who has been a part of our little club.

We’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating this community and I feel so blessed to have met so many like-minded women along the way, and to have made genuine friendships and connections. Thanks to this club we’ve also been able to make real change by donating books and raising money to support local charities that empower women and literacy – I cannot thank this community enough for being a part of that.

With love and gratitude,
