(Shelf) Love: Best Hydrating Routine for Summer
Erno Laszlo Hydra-Therapy Boost Hydration Serum, Hydra-Therapy Foaming Cleanser
& Hydra-Therapy Memory Sleep Mask
Summer is finally here in California which is amazing for my wardrobe, but for my skin? Not so much.
I’ve mentioned before that I have pretttty dry skin (more Shelf Love here). I’d say normally I have average-to-good skin and don’t do much in terms of a routine, but when it comes to hydration, I love finding things that keep me looking fresh. Erno Laszlo reached out to me to try out some of their products for a review, and I couldn’t wait to test it out. Their history in beauty goes way back, and they even helped come up with regimes for icons like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. I’m more of an Audrey fan myself, but either way, I was super interested in trying out these high-brow skincare products.
Their products range from brightening to moisturizing skincare serums. I was tempted to try some tightening products because I’ve always felt I have baby chubby cheeks lol (those are next on my list), but, knowing that summer was coming up I knew it would be the smarter choice to go for their hydra-therapy products. Here are the items I chose:
I usually use the foaming cleanser first thing in the morning to wake me up and get started for the day, the instructions say to use it twice daily. Then my nightly routine consists of using the cleanser first, then a couple of dabs smoothed over for the serum, and then finishing off with the memory sleep mask gel.
I’ve been using it for about two weeks now, and honestly I can see a difference already. Here are my lasting thoughts below:
Feel: I’ve read previous reviews of Erno Laszlo and the products didn’t disappoint. The cleanser gives you that fresh feeling and foams really easily (something that’s not necessary but feels so much better in skincare haha). The serum was super lightweight but I also felt the moisture set in as soon as I applied. And the gel has a creamy, lightweight texture that went on easy.
**Just a friendly note: keep all of these products away from your eyes. This should be obvious and was mentioned on the instructions, but for some foaming cleansers I’ve used before (especially if they remove makeup) you can put them on your eyes. I made that mistake and it did burn a little - so pls avoid.
Packaging: I love the packaging of these cute little products. I like how the pink is a bit of a muted shade, and the products all have a very sleek, chic aesthetic to them.
Perseverance: After two weeks, so far I haven’t had any dry skin issues (flaking, peeling, etc). I noticed after the first couple of days that my skin was already feeling softer, and although it’s meant for hydrating I see a bit of a glow, brightening effect too that I’m loving.
Lasting thoughts: Honestly super happy with this product and would totally invest in a kit. I’m really interested in trying some of their other products too. Their reviews were all extremely positive (check it out for yourself) and after trying it myself I can see why. Plus, this came right in time just before summer peaked, and my skin is so thankful.
