A Glamping Getaway in Joshua Tree

Glamping in Joshua Tree, California

I know I showed a little preview of this in my last post, but I am soo excited to show you guys our glamping experience last month in Joshua Tree. Honestly it’s the perfect getaway right now because of a couple things:

  • in a post-covid world, for some reason being in nature is something that I’m loving lately as well as something I really need

  • it’s socially-distanced approved! (there’s a couple other properties but they are really spaced out from you)

  • it’s stunningly beautiful and exactly as pictured

I won’t bore you with all of the details but if you’re looking for a fun weekend trip within driving distance of SoCal, I think glamping is the way to go. Now that I’m getting into my late twenties, camping becomes harder for me to bear lol. I used to love it growing up but having those extra amenities makes all the difference. We stayed at The Castle House Estate in one of their yurts, although they also have little ‘castle houses’ you can stay in too.

Our campsite had the following:

  • large bell tent (and either a full or queen size bed)

  • cute interior decor

  • palm trees (although you need to request Bell Tent #1)

  • mini swimming pool

  • firepit

I would recommend bringing just two bundles of firewood to last for about two hours. The listing recommended five bundles and I currently still have three in the trunk of my car that need to be returned. Also bring a lot of water, ice, and snacks! We only stayed one night but we were pretty prepared.

The pool was a nice touch, it definitely helped us keep cool throughout the day. But just keep in mind it’s veryyy tiny and there was a lot of sand in it. So don’t expect much, but it’s nice that it’s there. I’d recommend arriving later in the evening to avoid the heat.

The cons were that there was no AC. But, we honestly just stayed for the night and brought takeout with us so we could enjoy the sunset while we eat.
