Earlier this year, I went to New Orleans for my friend’s 30th birthday. We totally embellished in the girls trip cliche and the four us of went strolling along having a very fun, but respectable weekend haha. I do have to say the weather there is crazy though. The first day it was super sunny and we were all wearing sundresses, and literally the next day it was so cold and rainy that we had to buy sweaters and jackets. We went in March, but just prepare for anything in case. Ya never know.

If you are planning to go this summer though, here are a couple of things I enjoyed on my trip. (And if you’re not, I highly recommend it!) It’s honestly beautiful and the architecture was more stunning than I thought it would be. I mean obviously, it’s French. But you don’t necessarily think of cute little streets when you think of NOLA, you think of Bourbon Street and some comfort southern food. So the picturesque streets were a nice touch. :)

Our weekend mostly consisted of really good food and some cutesy Instagram-worthy spots. If you’re about that life, check out some of these little gems below:

Roam around the French Quarter

Cafe du Monde (or Beignet) for beignets and coffee

Have brunch at Commander’s Palace

Enjoy a show at the Jazz Preservation Hall (it’s walk-in, cash only btw)

Enjoy all the food and cocktails that you can (like fried oysters below nomm)

Take in all the architecture, decor, and colorful buildings

Hope this has been helpful if you plan on going to the Big Easy this summer! Prolly better weather than LA right now tbh.

Lmk!
